Community Projects
<empty>

The California Contractors Alliance is committed to quality and safety in the service the member companies provide their customers.  With these as their guiding principles, CCA members are also concerned about the workforce of tomorrow.

CCA also offers annual scholarships to those students who show exemplary effort in pursuing a career in heavy industrial construction or engineering.  These scholarships are awarded each year at the Holiday Party.

Community Projects & Annual Scholarships
John Swett High School

One of the few high schools in the state to aggressively pursue vocational course offerings, John Swett High School is the only one to initiate an industrial survey course leading to careers in heavy industrial craft areas, including welding, pipefitting, mechanical and electrical with a fundamental emphasis on safety.

The majority of proceeds from CCA’s annual golf tournament benefit the vocational program at John Swett High School. In fact, in 2001, the CCA supported a complete metal shop renovation for John Swett High School with a $57,000 contribution of funds and in-kind services.

CCA initiated a $26,000 community outreach project for an Antioch Unified School District elementary school that was forced to demolish its kindergarten playground equipment due to safety and ADA requirements. At the request of then Senator Richard Rainey and Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover, CCA responded with an offer to underwrite the entire cost of the project as its 1999-2000 community outreach project.
